Education City Application

Shortly after one of my tutorials, I was introduced to indeed.co.uk which is a job site that I had not heard of until this point. I found this site to be in some ways more beneficial because I was able to specify specific areas with in the UK that I wanted to look at jobs for. I actually found myself also looking for anything related illustration. This is because, a lot of the jobs I had applied for previously were along the lines of Illustrator and Designer for games, which I felt may have also opened up doors to the word of pre-production and production for me.

Shortly after looking through this site, I noticed a vacancy that for a Jr Artist at Education City that was based in Oakham. I decided to take a look at their website.

This is a studio that provides an online educational resource for primary schools and families. Education City is used in over 15,500 schools & also in thousands of homes. The content produced is aimed at children between 3 - 12 and focuses on key academic topics. 

To begin with, I felt quite hesitant to apply for this job, because producing educational content for children is not something I imagined myself doing, however I soon realised that it would be silly to ignore this opportunity. This could very well be a great chance to gain some experience and learn a lot. I decided to complete the online application form and sent this off alongside my showreel and CV!
